I wasn’t expecting much on Sunday, in many ways I’m surprised I even went but I get bored easily so off to Castle for The Cyril Julian Memorial shoot.
I kind love and hate Castle, the courses always look “doable” but the wind makes a massive difference at this ground, it whips off the open fields both sides of the woods and would make any grown man cry!
It was great to see Gilly back shooting, kinda missed him on the shoots and he’s always been supportive and helped me when I need it, I think I should book a months session in with him 🙂
John Amos welcomed everyone and warned that it was going to be a long course due to the weather, fair do’s I thought, after all, everything is a long course these days, I’m defo seeing a lack of imagination on my travels, set your scope to 50 and go. FT Shampoo 50 and Go anyone?
Luckily the course had a good mix and while it was hard to read it wasn’t boring or stupidly long, I started well be dropped off towards the back end of the course, just missing out due to the wind. I wasn’t shooting that bad, nice and steady and I nailed 3 out 4 on my standers so the shoulder held up, pretty pleased about that.
I felt loads better on the gun and even though my score doesn’t show it I actually shot a load better than the last two times out. Practice is starting this week so the steady climb back up in B Grade is underway.
