And so Emley Moor was to be the final Grand Prix of the season, I’d kinda had an OK season and my shooting was improving over the last 10 shoots but I hadn’t done enough to hold a position for a medal, oh well.
I knew what to expect at Emley and I wasn’t wrong, I expected an absolute growler and that’s pretty much what we got, it was relentless in parts but not tough enough for Jack to make mince meat of it, there goes my grade again. I’ll be back next season for some more that’s for sure. I missed my first two targets by giving too much wind and then not enough. I went low on the first target but was relieved to nail the Emley Tower. I started to pick up on the banked section but found I was having trouble focussing because I found the course a bit boring and repetitive. I also just couldn’t sit still either, which was a bit of a bummer for the last GP of the season.
We’ve seen some great shooting this season all across the grades, I’m hoping we can find a way to get more C Graders involved next year, we had a bumper year last year so I’ll be looking at ways of improving that next year.
